Title: Gearbox oil change

Hey folks. What are the symptoms of needing gearbox oil changed?... Is it something that needs changing or is it in theory the lifetime of the car?

What grade is recommended?

Vw says manual gearbox oil lasts lifetime of the car. Dont believe that.

Best to replace with genuine VW oil. Every 25-50k miles Is what I do.
