Title: Service Costs
Post by: scotta on January 05, 2010, 12:02:11 pm
What should i expect to pay for the second service on the Ed30?

VW want £205 to change the oil and do a visual "check".  :fighting:

I paid £180 for the 4th longlife service on my GTI last month.
Rule 1: NEVER accept the first quote
Rule 2: Call a lot of dealers and get quotes, they don't have to be close either, your local dealer SHOULD match any quote from other main dealers. They always have with me.

My first quote was about £300, then I got them down to £200 and when I actually came to pay, they said "did you get a quote?". "Yes I did, it was somewhere under £200"

Mind you, when I got my BMW serviced a few months ago, the first quote was £433  :surprised: I actually got the same garage down to £250  :happy2:

Im waiting for the SEAT garage ive used for years (Rutherfords of Earlston)  to fone me back with a price for the service. Far as im concerned VAG main dealer stamp will do whether its VW or SEAT and i trust them.

Their 20k service on my old FR TDI Leon was about £140 so im expecting about the same if not a bit less.

£110 for the basic service or £160 with a brake fluid change. Gonna go for the basic service and do the fluid myself.
