Title: GTI ED30 Price Sanity Check
Post by: Southy_ on January 29, 2016, 09:42:47 am
Hi Guys,

I am looking at getting a GTI ED30.
I have found one near me I am going to get a test drive in and wanted a sanity check on the price.

It is at an independent dealer, 2007, Black, 5 Door, 90k miles, looks in good condition from pictures (obviously will know better when I see it). Listed for £8,500.
Is that way off the mark price wise, or what I should expect from a dealer? I didn't think it was high, but I don't want to pay over the odds if another one might appear for a lot less later on.

There aren't many ED30's about to compare price wise.

Thanks!

Whats the spec?

Xenons?
Manual/DSG?
Sat Nav?
Sunroof?
Highline Clocks?
MFSW?

Sounds a decent enough price to me but more info would help.

Not sure on the Xenons, will find out when I view it.
It's a Manual and has none of the other options you listed.

Thanks for the response.

Seems cheap to me! I'll snap his hand off if it has been looked after and has been serviced with cam change etc

So went out to drive the car.
Really spot on, body work is immaculate, drove faultlessly, cam change 10k miles ago.
Couldn't find anything wrong with it!

FSH but the last 3 stamps are not VW main dealer (garage on the stamp is a Peugeot main dealer oddly)
I am not worried about it for myself, but if I were to sell it on would that affect the resale? Should I be negotiating the price down because of that?

Thanks for the help guys.

Sounds like good price to me but would not worry to much if does not have optional extras as the most important thing is it was looked after. Chuck a few pics up of inside or out so can get a good look at the condition

You got a link to the sale site

Service history wouldn't bother me. As long as it's been done yearly, as opposed to long life (max 2 years). Also check they used long life oil during the services.

Looks a genuine car to me - can't see many extras apart from the highline MFD. Don't like the colour and trim stripes to the rear valance and paint on the front grille, but guess they can be changed.
Good luck!

Well done but remember the cost of the car is only a drop in the ocean once the serious modders on here get you hooked haha
