Title: Park Assist on a 6R Bumper
Post by: afctom on January 30, 2016, 02:01:57 am
Hi, is it possible to retrofit Park Assist 1 with a Golf 6R bumper. It doesn't seem to have the PLA sensor outlines on the skin like all other model golf bumpers do. Many Thanks

Yes. Even to older versions. Here's mine with them fitted to a rear bumper without factory made holes for the sensors. There were no marks for them on the inside face.

Hi thanks but I'm talking about the Park Assist sensor holes which are different and located on the side of the bumper skin, rather than the four front and rear parking sensors!

Si-32 has retrofitted the park assist onto his mk5 R32 and has quite a thorough thread on the r32oc. It's a lot of work; golf 6R's didn't come with park assist in the uk as far as I'm aware so there wouldn't be anything on ekta to help!

Bumpers will need removing drilling out the holes where marked up and then the wiring will need feeding through the car and wiring up so can't be that difficult as long as there's some form of guide as I've fitted at least 50 maybe more to ford's and one to the front which nearly became a disaster as they don't have the hole markings  :scared: did it and worked fine though  :phew:

2010 focus bloody wanted front and rear sensors and that was my first attempt at the fronts as there was no one else who who touch them at the place.
