Title: Drivers door speaker problem
Post by: Panthera on January 31, 2016, 08:53:20 pm
As the title suggests the drivers door speaker - the lower one - does not reproduce sound until in crank up the volume a few turns. Now would this dictate that the speaker is on the way out, if so what are my options  - can I go to VW and get them to fix?  It starting to annoy me some what.

Buy a replacement speaker online and change it? It'll only be a few screws and a plug once the door card is off

Daft question, but have you got the fader and balance set up wrong?
I'm sure it's possible to turn a corner down... too much to the left and rear?

I have a similar problem where the driver's door speakers sometimes cut out, seems to happen more with the Nav audio, but then it corrects itself, so possibly a lose connection somewhere. I also have a crackle from the triangle tweeter speaker in driver's door, bought a new one but not had a chance to replace it yet. It's definitely not the balance/fader settings.

Both the fader and balance is central.

What size speaker is it that I should be looking for?
