Post by: smartie on February 07, 2016, 08:37:01 pm
Thinking about selling my edition 30 cause a fancy a mk6 R, what kinda money are they making these days? My spec is 2007 GTI edition30
Manual 49,000mile will increase
Full main dealer service history last two done by VW, timing belt and water pump done NOV13, two new front wings last year under VW warranty
Usual standard edition30 spec,
Heated seats etc plus...
Sat nav
iPod dock
Tinted windows
Xenon headlights and washers
Electric folding mirrors with puddle lights
Cruise control

Also got a ecotune stage1 remap

Would a be over the top asking for 10k??

Not a bad spec. 10k seems an okay price but have a look on auto trader and get an average.

I got mine from a dealer with 50k & DSG for 12k 6 months ago as they are more than private. Does it have dsg? As these seem to go for a few thousand more.

Considering there are 70k mile examples out there (30 seconds on autotrader), with full history for around the 8k mark from a dealer...... I think you'll struggle as a private sale..... that's dealer/trader money

I've been looking for one for a while and they seem to be priced around 8-10k depending on condition really. I think for 10k private it would need to be mint and low mileage

Looking at AT there's one with similar mileage and that's just under £11k but slightly newer.

My guess would be £9750,

Have you tried autotraders valuation for a rough guide ? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-valuation.

I would put it at 10 and then see how it goes,a week with not one call would mean lowering it,if you add open to offers to the advert that could encourage potential buyers.

I struggled to sell a mint 2 owner 49k miles stage 2+ eddy last month.
I got £10750 for the car but it was mint with a full history and over serviced.
Your selling at a bad time of year also.
Hope it goes but over 10k is pushing it I'm my opnion.
Based on my recent knowledge, you will get a lot of time wasters offering you really low money aswell.

Sold mine privately about 4 months ago...

2007/07 Golf Edition 30
Tornado Red
3-Door, Manual
62K, FSH, Timing belt done etc
3 owners

Basic spec I.E RCD310, No MFSW, No Cruise etc

Mint condition, Fully detailed by myself and paint corrected with 2 stage machine polish.

Car had just had a Major Service using Genuine parts, Millers Nano 5w40 oil, Cam Follower, Diverter and PCV all replaced with latest revision parts. 4 x Brand new Continental Sport Contact 5 tyres all round.

R-Tech Custom Stage 1 Re-map, Very healthy before and afters.

Car wanted for absolutely nothing.

I got £9000 for it! Had it up for more but had no interest. In the end it sold on via ebay as Autotrader, Pistonheads and all the owners clubs generated nothing.

Same thing happened to my friend with his...

2007/57 Golf Edition 30,
Tornado Red,
5-Door, DSG Model
47K miles
FSH

Was better specced than my car, Also in excellent condition and had all the latest revision parts fitted etc. 4 Brand new Uniroyal Rainsports.

Went for £9600 in the end.

Autotrader is a better bet as you get serious buyers on there and ebay is full or  :stupid: time wasters.

VBOLWTS  :happy2:

Seems that the edition 30 is still holding its value pretty bad. Once mine is paid off I'm thinking of going bmw.

335i beast?
