Title: New headunit suggestions
Post by: Eddcunningham on February 10, 2016, 02:00:59 pm
Hi all,

I'm currently looking to replace the absolutely terrible rcd300 06 plate GTI, but I'm totally clueless when it comes to what's any good!
I know that I'd ideally like a headunit with Apple CarPlay as I enjoy Spotify, but the price of these is a bit beyond me at this moment in time.
I'm hoping by listing my requirements, someone may know the perfect solution for me.

- budget of around £200 (not a lot I know, but don't mind used units)
- as clean looking as possible
- high line mfd integration would be nice
- not too bothered about DAB or Sat Nav
- aux & usb (with iPhone charging)
- retain steering wheel controls
- good sound quality

I hope this is enough for someone to guide me in the right direction

On that type of budget I'd be looking at pioneers range avh-x3500 etc, I've sold recently on eBay for £180, I have one in my van, great sound, has dab too.
BUT
Having said that, I'd rather pay the extra for a dnx 520/521 for my golf.
