Hi Guys,
Im trying to sell my Mk5 Golf GTI as I'm after an R32 instead. Ive had it on eBay for a few weeks now but don't seem to be getting as much interest as i expected.

Its on for £5250, does this price sound reasonable?
Its done 102K miles, it has a full service history, had a cam belt, water pump and main thermostat last year.
The car has leather interior, xenon headlights, auto lights, arutowipers, heater wing mirrors, heater seats.

Quite a few on AT 60-80k miles going for what you're asking so may be worth dropping the price a bit tired 4850?
Also doesn't help that as soon as a car hits 100k it puts people off.
If you wanna keep at the price you have it at, just hold on for a few weeks, a buyer could come at any time. It's usually the same case, you get hardly any calls or interest, and as soon as you sell the car the phone doesn't stop ringing asking if it's still available

I had it up for auction on eBay and it got up to 5k but the reserve was 5250, i offered a second chance offer to the highest bidder but i guess he changed his mind. Ill see how it goes and then think about reducing it to 5k perhaps. Cheers.

Looks good with plenty of pictures (they could be of higher quality). However, you may want to stress the work and money you have spent on the car. Try to get across how well you have maintained the car.

take a picture of the service history as well. but otherwise i think you done ok. took ages for me to sell my really nice condition fiesta. just gotta wait for the right nibble

Personally I think you are asking strong money for a 100k+ mile gti with OK spec
No RNS510
No MFSW
MidLine (I think)
17'' Monzas
Although the paintwork looks fantastic - also include an underbonnet shot and boot
If its not selling you are asking too much - either that or its the wrong time of year (post xmas)
Good luck with the sale :happy2:

Way too much competition out there and very stupidly cheap gti's hence yours isn't selling. sorry to be blunt but I've seen the gti market and it's looking awfully cheap.

Thanks for all the replies! Will take the comments on board and make the updates tomorrow. Cheers!

Don't settle for too less as it's a nice looking motor

Looks in great condition, and it's an awful lot of car for 5 grand. MK5 GTI's are almost coming close to tempting me out of my MK6!

Get it up on pistonheads and autotrader (worth the fee in my opinion).
I've sold 5 cars in total; 4 of the buyers came through autotrader and 1 through pistonheads. I also had the cars listed on forums.
