A lot of cars including GTI's/Edition 30's have been stolen from my area recently.
I have been considering a track however not sure which one to go for... any recommendations?
Ive heard this is quite good... has anybody got this item

That's not for tracking the car if it gets stolen but don't really see the point. Either keep doors locked at all times or activate on VCDS auto door locking above 15mph.
Imo a trackers is only worth it on a £30k plus car as you usually have to pay yearly subscriptions to the tracking companies.

yes the auto lock is on above 15 mph...
suppose its the tracker option and yes thats the only thing i was thinking the yearly subscription is pricey and doesnt seem to be justified in my insurance quote

More likely to get stolen when the keys get taken during a break in etc. So always best to have your car keys well hidden when you're not at home as most insurance companies don't pay out a penny if they get taken.
Or look into getting one of those raised bollards you can get on your drive which stop anyone taking your car even with the key. Also doubles up as a method to stop people parking in your space etc
