Title: Speakers only working on one side!
Post by: Greenman on February 14, 2016, 03:02:30 pm
Very weird one this.

Sometimes i can get in the car and sound will come out of all speakers, other times it will loose all speakers on the passengers side of the car all together.

If i move the balance to the left i get nothing at all, back to central and it starts playing fine but just out of the right hand side speakers?

I have an RNS510 everything else ICE wise is standard.

Could this be a failing channel on the RNS510's amp?

If so, this might finally force me to upgrade to sub/amp etc.

Any ideas?

TIA.

I'm sure you can run diagnostics on the stereo/satvav using vcds? As when I do a full scan it comes up with diagnostic on the screen. Maybe try that?

I don't have a way of checking VCDS!

How much do VW charge for a VCDS check?

A diagnostic from vw would be at least 70£ I'm guessing as I'm sure I asked a few years ago and nearly fainted at the price.

See if any local users on here that can plug it in near you? Where abouts are you?
