Title: Big Rattle!
Post by: T88OMM on January 06, 2010, 06:19:01 pm
I have driven over 3000 miles in the last week and a half and all was going perfectly with the S3 up until today! I had to navigate my way over a bumpy car park with over a foot of snow on it reasonably fast so I would not get stuck. Just driving home from work then and the car has developed a large rattle / judder through the steering wheel and i'm getting a lot of vibration through the seat! I have a few ideas what it maybe but i'm looking for all your opinions?  :happy2:

in these conditions could just be accumulated snow/ice in nether regions...

I had a judder on my old R32 that I felt through the steering wheel and seat when easing off the gas and it turned out to be a track rod end.  Was replaced under warranty.

i have experienced something similar a few years ago,

in my case it was a build up of snow inside the wheels thus throwing the balancing out.
