Title: R headlights
Post by: Chris92 on February 20, 2016, 04:12:17 pm: Why do some golf mk6 r's come with sliver bits in the headlight and others are all black? Years ago I read because it depends if they came with 18 or 19" alloys, 18" wheels came with the sliver headlights and all black lights were fitted to the cars with 19" wheel. This true?

They definitely ain't, some have all black and the others are black but with sliver inside. When searching they seem pretty much 50/50 on which ones they have fitted.

The early models of the generation came with chrome housings. From around 11 onwards they all came with black as standard I'm pretty sure.

I've seen 12plates with the sliver bits in lights. So don't think it's to do with age.

Yes like them headlights on the white golf, them two sliver bits inside.

That what I said in the first post but it just seems odd altering the headlights for a bigger set of wheels. I personally don't like the sliver one :rolleye: yes I know it's only a minor thing but all black look better
