I've been looking through the Main Dealer service history for the car and it looks like they were last changed in July 2012 nearly 50k miles ago... :surprised:
Is that normal? Mind you they were £12 a pop!
Think I'll get them changed in the pre map things to do so what plugs do people use, VW or other?
Cheers

Plugs are supposed to be changed at major service (every 20,000 miles) or every other year if miles low.
-
Actually its 60,000 miles if you look in the handbook. Most people do either 10k or 20k depending on useage.
-
Never, looked in the handbook, but 60k for a plug change sounds ridiculous.
VW state that plugs are changed at the major service (20k miles or 2 years).

as a rule of thumb.. if a car is tuned service schedules should be halved. if theyre platinum/iridium plugs your usually good for 3-4 years. anything else tbh is so cheap and easy to do id just recommend doing them every year

I very much doubt if I'll be getting the car serviced at the main dealers from now on, probably an independent but it'll be done once a year and reckon I'll do 12k per year so which plugs should I get bearing in mind I'll be getting a stage 1 done at Rtech?

Only 30quid a set. I change mine annually. Probably overkill but i run meth, and its hardly breaking the bank when you fit them yourself

I've had a look in the service book and yes it says 60k change interval..... :surprised:
