Title: re-circ valve
Post by: m33klo on January 06, 2010, 09:16:55 pm
Hey guys am sure this question has been asked many times but i really fancy a re-circ valve for my mk5 gti and was wondering if anyone here has one?
I was quoted at 160 for one am up in north scotland but that to me seemed a little steep ?
the car has been re mapped and was also worried this may affect the running of the car?

you hopefully has a re circ valve, called the dv and sits on the turbo if it's a k03 or behind cooling rack if K04  :happy2:

Thoroughly recommend the Forge Diverter Valve...just remember to put in the yellow spring since your car is remapped.

Mine came with a plastic bag with two springs and a little note - a green one for standard cars, and a yellow provided for remapped cars...

MATT ED30 you will find it makes a noticeable difference - to holding boost and general response.

mine didnt come with 2 springs either, do you just unscrew the top or do you have to take the whole thing off.

yeah like a cold air intake?
my golf runs without a air box and that was the way i bought it? the guy at garage told me the car had been set up at janspeed and was running around 270 bhp he reckoned and the guy is a very reliable guy who i have bought cars from before!
How much is the valve?

is your car the std 200ps GTI or an ed 30.

If they have truly got her to 270hp, its very likely you have a full TBE, Air intake and fuel pump, possibly intercooler.
270Hp is very nearly a maxed out 200ps k03 engine.

what are your mods, do you know.
Alot of guys have used the new D Revision DV and they are a lot better quality than the older diaphragm styled DVs which were flawed. they are a much cheaper option than the Forge(bout £45 iirc).

an alternate whoosh which IMO is less chavvy is a good open cone air intake such as ITG/Evoms/BSH trueseal.thwy give off distinctive noises that are not chavvy instyle atall. i previously had the fprge blow off spacer on my car but removed it as it was embarrassing at low town speeds
