Hi all as title says!
Apologies if this has already been covered
I have an ED30 currently stage 1 and need to get some oil for a top up soon. I know Millers seems to be the oil of choice however light pockets until pay day
my question is 5W30 or 5W40 fully synthetic or semi for a mapped car.
Halfords have a good deal at the minute

Any help appreciated

I recently switched to Fuchs Titan GT1 in my Audi, and the Golf currently on castrol edge. Cheap on eBay.

Does that Mobil 3000 oil even meet VW spec?

I will really recommend millers nonodrive compares to castrol... I sell castrol at work so i can buy it cheap but i tries millers last time and wont go back to castrol anytime! The car runs smoother, less smoke from exhaust and less noise from engine! Even with oil you get what you pay for. My stage 2+ eddy deserves the best and I will only give it millers in the future.
You can find it quite cheap on ebay!
In Sweden we don't have any dealer for millers so i must buy it from uk with quite expensive shipping cost wich makes it twice as expensive then the castrol but i still think it's good value for money.

+1 for Millers

I'm running Millers Nanodrive CFS 5w40 and can't fault the oil. No really noticeable oil consumption, no smoke, smooth engine.
Fortunately I have a local dealer or the price would be even worse compared to any other renowned brand.

Millers NanoDrive 5W40, Not cheap but then neither is an Engine!

Are you guys using your own oil taking your cars to a dealer for servicing... to keep the stamps up? Do they let you use your own oil?
-
DIY... keep all receipts.

From my personal experience not all official dealers accept that you bring your oil. I prefer having a VAG independent specialist taking care of my cars. They know more than most VW mechanics.

Think might have to be the Nanodrive then. It's just a top up at the minute I have a local VW.Specialist that would do a full change and stamp

The oil the OP linked doesnt meet the VW standards. I used this one which meets the latest 504/507
