Hey guys,
I don't know if this has been asked already so please excuse me if it has, but I have a Mk5 R32 6 Speed Manual and recently I have noticed that whenever I am in slow moving traffic (which thankfully I am in every day because I live in London, yay..) and I put my clutch down just before coming to a stop, my car clunks very weirdly, it feels as though it's been forced out of gear or something. Has this happened to anyone and would anyone know exactly what this could be? Thanks guys

Could be the flywheel re engaging (if it's got one) and as it's got more worn, the side to side play has become more excessive. I had mine like this on a GTI for 20,000 miles before I bit the bullet and bought a new clutch and dmf.

Has it ever had a new clutch fitted?
I had something similar on my Audi (like a shunting sensation) and it turned out the subframe bolts had not been properly torqued up by AMD after they fitted a new clutch.

I'm not too sure to be honest, I guess I will just have to take her to the garage and hope for the best.
Thanks for the help guys!

No problem mate.
Riding the clutch, even minimally, which is almost inevitable in slow moving traffic, may well point towards an excessively worn clutch plate or Flywheel and the difficulty either of them may be having trying to re-engage, but any mechanical will tell you to continue as you are until the clutch starts slipping or goes completely.
The subframe bolts having loosened off is also a possibility, but usually it's only identifiable in left to right turns or vice versa. I've never heard of it on clutch release or coming to a stop.
Another thing it may be is an engine or transmission mount, some times the rubber bushes get worn and the play becomes excessive causing the metal to knock. What you're describing could easily be that.
What I would say is, don't think worse case scenario, because it probably isn't. We all do it, but it's usually always unjustified.
