See video attached.. I've had it up on a ramp and a mechanic searching through whilst I've been revving but he can't seem to find anything? Any ideas? Anyone come across this? Cheers lads

Hi have have you checked the exhaust down pipe flexible pipe?.
-
Hi mate, yeah that doesn't seem to be the problem. Waste gate actuator sounds like a popular rattle? :sad1:
-
Hi, Never heard the waste gate to go or make sich a noise but this is my first mk5.
Sorry I couldn't help further.
-
Recent thread cited a loose fuel line under the bonnet. Bottom left as you look in. Just needed clipping back in.
-
Thanks for the advice anyway mate. @r5gtt (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=11199)
Cheers @AJP (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=11926) will have a look in the morning, I hope you're right!!

Thread's about 3 weeks old if you can find it mate. Good luck!
-
Update us on your findings :happy2:
-
Will do lads!

I have this exact noise and its the turbo wastegate actuator rod. It has slight play in it. Theres a clip available for the tsi engines that solves it. With the FSI engines you have to take up the slack in the rod without overtightening it to overboost the turbo. Theres a long thread somewhere on another forum I'll try and find.
