Title: Going De-cat question. Again...
Post by: K9 on March 06, 2016, 10:04:56 pm
guys, i'm going next week Milltek de-cat with a Milltek cat-back non res.
Bought new Dp sealing with new Dp bolts, is there anything else i need?

How about the fueling i readed about when you de-cat your gti? Currently on remap stage 1+ oem HPFP and intake.

Thank you!

You should change the gasket between the downpipe and turbo

De cat always brings EML on as ive had it too. spacer works but light still comes on so from time to time it will need clearing that's why I kept a maxi scan in car for years  :signLOL:

what should i look at if the car is running lean etc?

Not the maf reading. Maf reading alone is useless.

Log the ma,f lambda correction and the actual & specified lambda values.

Why do you suspect the car is running lean?

no't suspecting, just want to check. My tuner told me that i can check the MAF so it's giving enough when going de-cat

I had my DP (with Decat) fitted and I didn't have an EML light on for about a week and it came on after a spirited drive. Took it straight to my mapper and he sorted it out for me

Took my car to the local garage to ask for my pre-cat to be deleted. When I went to collect he was welding it back up and had knocked both cats out. Wasn't happy to say the least. However no cel light showed on standard downpipe with no cats. Going to fit a proper stainless downpipe soon get the job done properly :)

Oops! Perfect excuse to uprate the downpipe then like you say. It's a big restriction on TFSIs. 3" and a good map makes the world of difference.
