Hi there people!
Currently I have a 200 cell sports cat in my TBE. I'm contemplating having it chopped out and having a 100 cell installed ready for my trip to R-Tech.
I obviously understand the idea behind a more free flowing exhaust, but will there be any noticeable gains?
Also I had my post cat o2 sensor deleted by my previous mapper, so figured it would not throw up an EML, but in any event I could have that mapped out by R Tech on the 23rd.
Thoughts anyone?

What cat exactly do you have?
It might factor on design more than cell density whether you get more flow with a 100 cell.
The oversize Powervalve 200 cell cats are known to flow really well.

I don't know exactly. It's a Longlife USA exhaust. It's very short in length. Maybe only 200-250mm.

100 cell is more likely to cause an MOT failure on emissions. It's all down to the quality and surface area of the substrate. With most of the tiny little 100 cell jobs, you're better off with a straight pipe and just get friendly with an MOT tester!

Fair enough mate. I'm friendly with enough. Maybe I should just go decat then.

100cell will be ok if you get it really hot before testing on mot.

Okay. Thank you Andy. I'm wondering whether it's worth swapping my 200 for a 100. There seems to be such cknflicying thoughts. Right now I have very short 200 cell cat, so unless there is a particular 100 cell cat that is a guaranteed improvement, I don't know if I'd be doing the right thing.

Probably not worth changing to a 100 Cell if you already have a 200 Cell sport cat. If you were swapping for a larger diameter decat then yes that would aid flow.
