Title: Need new locking wheel bolts. What spec does the MK5 need?
Post by: jedi-knight83 on March 12, 2016, 04:56:57 pm
Cant say I realised there were so many options!

Ive got BBS CH026 8x19 wheels and a standard MK5 gti hub. I need some new locking nuts but apparently there are a few options...

Thread

M12 x 1.25
M12 x 1.5
M12 x 1.75
M14 x 1.25
M14 x 1.5

Seat

60 degree
Flat
Radius

Shaft Length

Many options from 24mm-45mm

Thanks in advance.

Standard bolts are...

M14x1.5
Radius seat
28mm thread length

Pretty sure all genuine BBS use radius bolts too. The majority of aftermarket rims use 60 degree taper but it seems BBS are an exception. My BBS VZ are radius.

If you look at one of your standard bolts, if they're radius the seat is curved.

Not yet, just getting round to it this week.

Seems BBS CH026 takes a 60 degree seat.
