Title: Won't rev above 3000rpm eml on
Post by: jakejay92 on March 12, 2016, 05:22:50 pm
Hi

I was driving my golf gt sport tsi (170) earlier today when the eml came on, now it won't rev above 3000rpm, feels fine in some lower gears. But when I get to full boost it feels like it's holding back, goes flat all off a sudden.

Any help would be great cheers

Limp Home mode. It's protecting the engine by not letting it rev past 3000rpm. Scan for fault codes.

I had this last week. Got fed up and parked the car up for a few days. drove 50odd miles and the fault hasn't come back. May be worth getting a handheld obd2 scanner so if it happens again, you can scan it and see what the problem is
