Hey guys so my engine in my A3 2.0 TFSI Quattro died on me a few days ago the chain broke causing timing to jump and has now bent 8 valves in my cylinder head.
I've been searching for a new engine for the right price everywhere and I've seen a 2006 MK5 GTI AXX code Engine for sale just wanted to know if it's an exact straight fit? And also would i need different ancillaries and loom etc? What problems could I potentially face..
Thanks for any help in advance people!

Why don't you get it repaired?. cheaper...

Engine is a straight fit. Possibly have to change a sensor or 2 from your old engine to the new one but that's about it.
Would also be cheaper and less work to repair your current one as mentioned above

Thanks guys but I've had the cylinder head taken off but my mechanic has told me that their is a slight play/movement on my pistons... is this normal or should there be no play at all??

If there wasnt movement then they would seize.
There is always rock in the bores.

Change your mechanic

Should be some free play in the Pistons. Excessive movement would be an issue.
