Title: coilovers ! Which ones ?
Post by: gobbleplease on January 08, 2010, 07:22:00 pm
I have recently bought a set of VWR coilovers, although ive found a set of spanking new Bilstein Pss10s for under £1k  :surprised: :surprised:

It is a bloody brilliant offer, I would imagine that these are better that the VWR set and i believe are a bit more comfortable.

Has anyone used these or could confirm that these are better than the VWR set. ???

There are a few chaps on here with the billies and they are great. :happy2:
But also a few guys on here have the VWR ones, which i believe to be AP colis and so far they have had great praise as well. It depends what you are going to do with the car, most people dont tinker to much once its set up to suit, but if you like to tinker then the Billies are very easy to adjust.  :happy2:

There will not be much tinkering, ride height will be set once at about 20mm lower and ill have one setting that im happy with for road and a bit harder for track.

the bilsteins for me purely on the ease of adjustability. way more hassle to adjust the VWR coilovers in comparison.

perfomance wise id bet there is naff all in it though

....x2

I have VWR-KW-V3's and am very happy with them but the Bilstein equivalent will be just as good and easier to adjust if that's what you need to do.

I have PSS10's and they are great. I echo the comments on here so far as performance is concerned. The ease of adjustability of the damping settings were what sold them to me. A simple click and you can set the dampers from a very road friendly 1 to a spine snapping (but track superb) 10. You can also alter the fronts and rears to separate settings in 2 minutes to give a 1/4 mile biased set-up if you wanted. :happy2:

I also have KW V#'s, and would say buy Billsteins, for adjustments ease and for a contra "ring" on the lowering part of the schock, KW only uses a pinol screw

Just wondering what sort of price you paid, i know im getting a good deal but not sure if its good enough to warrant ditching the VWRs ?

Im sure that there is a lifetime warranty on the bilsteins too, which is a bonus !
