Just had my GTI a week now, but have noticed swirl marks 'etched' on the windscreen, like a previous owner failed to change the wiper blades soon enough. Not so noticeable inside, but in the garage with halogen lights over, it looks awful.
Anyone know of any techniques to remove - please?
Oh, Solvol Autosol is great for getting the carbon crud from off yer zorsts!
Wish it had painted skirts and bumpers - looks so much more 'finished', but pricey to get done, and I've already paid over the odds for the car, doh!
Cheers

You need a rayon pad, glass polish and a machine polisher

I have a similar problem and was told the only fix is new wiper blades and a new windscreen! I changed the blades but won't change the windscreen until I get a chip on it then will use insurance.

I'll second that. It cleaned mine up really well but unfortunately the scratches were etched too deep in some areas so I was glad a year later when a stone hit my window and had to get it replaced!

Thanks for the comments on this. Did a bit of research on the glass polish / rayon pad etc, and seems that if not done 'properly', there is a risk of creating a 'lensing' effect on the screen, affecting visibility.
Anyone done it successfully, or know of a reputable professional outfit in Dorset / Hampshire that could do the work? :happy2:
