Title: Is it possible to rip a revG dv on standard unmapped car in under 6 months?
Post by: ReflexRob on March 15, 2016, 07:54:52 pm
I've got serious boost leakage and the dv bolts are tight.

All I can think of is that the dv has ripped after only 6 months which seems insane.

Could be a number of things. Have you not taken the DV off to have a look?

Or could be a boost hose come unclamped.

Remove it and check as the Rev g's are pretty sturdy so would have thought something drastic to go after 6 months

I've not taken it off yet as it takes me hours,  I find it ridiculously hard to get to!

Tell me about it, I have changed whole suspension systems quicker than this b@stard of a job!

The irony is that I did it not long ago but my threadlock was getting a bit old. I have bought new bolts and threadlock to rule it out but I need to get the damned thing out first.

Any tips?

I have the car jacked up as high as my jack will take it and can crawl under but can't fully extend my arms or get round the metalwork underneath.

The other option is through the wheel arch but I found before I needed to do both and couldn't grip the tools properly due to poor arm positioning

Did a VCDS scan tonight and no errors relating to boost pressure.........
