That's what my two local VW places were quoting. A local indie wasn't much cheaper either.
Where abouts are you?

I got mine done for £300.
Got a written quote from a local garage and then went to VW dealer for price match!

It did cause a bit of hassle as they wanted to make sure the garage used genuine VW parts etc. so contacted them which was awkward :(

I've got one booked in for the 20/4 and I was quoted £429 w/o water pump £479 with, so it's a stranded average price, normally I get some kind of discount as I get on well with the service guy from when I had my previous Golf, but I've not been there since I sold it and got the Audi, now I'm back in a Golf, so hopefully I'll be in his good books again..fingers crossed  :happy2:

The price of the parts alone £244? From the dealer and about £10 less off of TPS for the Cambelt kit and the water pump makes the 479 seem like a great price. Can't see an indie doing it labour only for £235 incl vat? So not too bad plus a stamp in the service book which can only be good for resale

Drain it all? Doubt it, they will just fill it back up.

It's only what they drain out the bottom radiator hose and what pours out the engine when the pump is removed so not all.
