Hi guys, ive been trying to work out what i need and even got as close to arranging a trip to tps. But now i dont know and have got myself ultra confused. Vibra/ecs/inserts/bushes(lol bush).
The rubber in the picture has cracked and its time for a change. Car is dreadful the way it is And i k ow somewhere theres damage being done :'(
What do i need to make it right? Im not after a track car and whilst normally oem for mounts is bad. Oem in this case is still for a gti! So how uncomfortable will non oe be. Do i need a new dogbone? Or just the bush? Can i get a powerflex insert and put it around the existing and should be fine? (Dont fink id be doing that)
Thanks in advance from me and the car

If you are changing the complete bush I believe it comes in 2 parts upper and lower ( I will try look later when I can get on the catalogue). You will also need a new bolt as it's a stretch bolt iirc it's only a couple of quid. The dogbone itself should be fine but there is another bush where the join is by the gearbox. I can't advise you on weather or not to change or just put the insert in but if it's badly perished I would change it, although iirc the subframe needs to be removed and it will need pressing out and a new one pressed in.

Cheers Tappy.
At first it made no sense what you wrote above. But after looking at the catalog i get what you mean. Do you mind showing me where the other bush is please from the below?
If i have to take the subframe out I'd order the stretch bolts for that too right.? Btw deadset frame bolts. Omg drolllll

What I have circled in red is the upper and lower mount. And where I circled blue there is another bush there.

@raz469 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=15020) check your gearbox mount as this is another common one for perishing and cracking.

Hey dude, your back? Hope you enjoyed it. Is that the sucker on the side, you can see from top? My mech already told me not to ask him to change that lol. we did check it for movement when we saw the above, but put most of it down to the more central dog bone. Ok if i do it after?

Oh yea I remember that now. Fingers crossed i dont have to, but without taking it out will have to wait until new lower in.
Oh wow. Thats some dedication bud. You should really get some rest though, with the work you do. Ford drivers need all the help they can get ;) without leaving the shop with loose wheels.
Did a 48hour day last week, still playing catchup.
