Title: What's the best oil to use as top up?

Hi guys need to too up my oil what's the best stuff am I right in saying castrol 5w40 fully synthetic I have a golf mk5 edition 30 thanks

I would put the same back in as what's already in.i use vw,s long life fully synthetic from  tps.they do at a decent price.i find it cheaper than euro crap parts .
