Title: MFD Sat Nav Help!!!

I have the MFD2 unit in my GTI... All of a sudden when the sat nav disc is in it says 'please insert sat nav disc'

it was working before so not sure what it is... went to vw and they put another sat nav cd in and that didnt work either so they quoted me over a grand for a new one which i know is a total rip off

anyone know what the problem is?

I'd hazard a guess the laser that reads the disc is knackered... Does it read any disc's?

I'd replace it with a more modern unit, not worth the hassle repairing it. Also maps on a disc how retro!!!  :laugh:

it reads normal cd's yes....
