I have an issue with the rear seat bench/cushion not sitting flat. It sits up so i then push it down ensuring the velcro is stuck and it stays down for a few days then one corner pops up out of the catch. Anyone seen/resolved this? Doing my head in. Its a 5dr Golf

I wasn't aware there was velco holding the rear benches down in these cars..?

Have a look at the guides at removing the rear bench and fully remove it and inspect, sounds to me like the frame work could be damaged/bent.

When you lift up the seat cushion front there are the two stainless metal loops that go into plastic retainers. In my car there is a length of velcro at each end of the seat cushion stitched to the seat base and it sticks onto the carpet that folds underneath the seat cushion.
I agree there seems to be something bent but i just cant see it.  I was going to roughen up the stainless metal loops to see if that helps. Weird..........

I would remove the lower bench, it's dead easy to do (requires no tools) and takes about 10 minutes tops.

Got round to having a look. When seet cushion sitting on the floor it was indeed warped. Dont know how it has happened but with a bit of effort got it sitting flat again.
