Hi Guys
So I plan to clay bar my car in the near future and have just ordered 5 pieces of 3m Clay bars off ebay
Just wanted to know what would be the best detailer (lube) to use when rubbing the clay
If you haven't guessed it, its my first time using clay bars...

This stuff is easier to use and highly rated. I plan to do it soon.
You can just use warm soapy water with this one.

I usually mix up a very soapy car shampoo mix. No need for special lubes or anything like that, just keep the surface wet.

PS. you shouldn't need more than 1/4 to 1/2 a bar of clay for a full car, just remember to keep folding it.

I used the cheap 3M clay bar from eBay too. Half a bar did my whole car with ease, the finish when wet should feel super smooth and after doing it for 10 mins you'll get used to the noise of a dirty area to a clean one (hard to explain) and also get faster. Like @DFish (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=5438) says, keep folding the clay; this is most important as it avoids dragging the lifted grime back over the paintwork.
The first time I've ever clayed mine and the car looked better than ever, even before I'd polished and waxed.

PS. I use Dodo Juice - Born Slippy concentrate

This is what I use, I usually fill a separate spray bottle with about 1/4, and dilute the rest with water, always works really good, and brucy bonus it smells like bubblegum haha! Try your local B&Q, I usually find it there for about £6
