Evening all. Break calipers and now I think about it, the hubs could benefit from a wee colour refurb. To save extensive masking up do you think smooth red hamarite would be near enough the colour for the calipers and silver for the hubs. Do you think it would handle the temperatres of breaking and being cleaned by wheel cleaner?

I did mine that way, it's not gti red but you'd be hard pressed to notice

Hiya. Is it a brush on paint do you know? I'm trying to avoid to much masking.

Yep, used Hammerite Smooth myself in the past, with success. Not sure how hot the calipers got though, it was an old barge Audi..!

Just had a look at your build thread. From what I can see the clipers look really good. Actually the whole thing looks good :)

Hammerite is top as I've been using this for years with calipers. mine are already red as I think they come this way.

Hammerite is decent stuff. Used them on a few previous cars for the calipers. good stuff

Mine came red too but they need a bit of tidy up and one is a bit sticky. Was going to get the car jacked up and take a day stripping the calipers and re pistoning them painting them along with the hubs.

I see hope you get them sorted. I've tried to refit a piston in a tt caliper and in the end gave up as it was still leaking after replacing the piston. Need to repla e the rear left as that's sticking now. Good luck :happy2:
