Title: Low pressure
Post by: Ray on April 14, 2016, 09:25:31 pm
Hello this is my first thread and unfortunately not off to a  great start. 1st golf mk5 got crashed, bought another one and it has started miss firing. One cylinder has low pressure.  The millage is 126k so not worth fixing unless I can get it done for cheap. I am stuck with 2 cars out side. One half dead and one dead.

So I'm trying to find the cheapest option for now but best end result as I want to keep/do a project (always wanted a golf)

Option 1: fix amend engine.
2: engine swap
3: other recommendations

Oh it's a 1.6 fsi  :ashamed: insurance is to high for me. Also if I do a engine swap for something bigger 1.8 for example I won't be telling my insurance. My 1st golf accident was not mentioned to my insurance.... please don't shout lol, I pay the punishment for my actions.

Thanks in advanced

i am now thinking of buying a full reconditioned engine, any recommendations of where i can get one from, for cheap as well, found a few places but not sure if their trustworthy.
1) engine repair solution. http://www.engine-repair-solutions.co.uk/ (http://www.engine-repair-solutions.co.uk/), £1150
2) engine engineering. http://engineengineering.co.uk/ (http://engineengineering.co.uk/), £1164 + they want my old unit
3) AW engineering. http://vwenginerecon.co.uk/ (http://vwenginerecon.co.uk/), havent called yet

these prices are full recon engines, thats what i am being told by them
