Title: Alloy wheel repair
Post by: Black9 on April 23, 2016, 04:19:32 pm
Managed to curb the alloy on the front of my C63 :fighting:

Been quoted £150 to have all 4 powder coated.

Is there any good DIY wheel repair kits I could use myself?

Other 3 wheels are fine so want to avoid powder coating if possible..

Any refurbisher worth their salt should be able to repair the alloy and match the finish.

If you fancy DIY, fair enough, but I'm sure there's an easier way.

My local charged me 60 quid to sort mine after the other half bashed a kerb. Poor wheel looked a mess but it came back looking identical to the others. Was so happy that they've just refurbed my new wheels which were heavily kerbed, scratched and had some corrosion.

£150 to have the others powdercoated seems rather cheap to me. I'd worry about how much (little) prep work there would be

I'll go up this week to see if they can match the colour.

They refurbed 2 or 3 sets of wheels for me in that past and I was happy with the finish.

I've had mine done when my nephew or his wife used my car when it was in storage three x alloys curbed and the guy only painted the outside of the wheels which pissed me off but 40 per side so I can't complain too much although he should have told me they only painted the outer and I would have said NO bloody NO   :signLOL:
