Title: Run the big ends!!

So today after getting my timing belt fixed for the second time and finally getting my map sorted the STOP ENGINE light came on when I turned it off and done all the checked oil and stuff I rested it and the big ends are f*cked ! 100% rattling ! Wat would course the big ends to fail ? Besides no oil ? Because there was plenty in the sump

Well if the big end is rattling it's the shell bearings most likely. Not good :-(

my guess is oil starvation from a blocked pickup

Oil starvation. Either th  pickup or the oil pump itself.

Ok took the sump off the find my oil pump chain in a hundred bits and my balancing shaft has seized ! Snapping my chain and taking the crank sprocket teeth with is so... I basically need a bottom end !!!! What engine codes and cars have the same bottom end as mine ? It's an AXX

You will need a whole engine. The swarf will have travelled through to the head and fooked it. Turbo bearings may be shot too.

Managed to source a BWA engine but is it a straight swap and will it run an AXX ecu ?

Yeo you can combine axx and bwa engines. Your ecu will also be fine. Have a look threw my posts I have already done it myself. I used a bwa bottom end and axx head.

Iv got a deal on a complete BWA engine and gearbox for a complete pull out and drop in

i have sold a few now bwa with 90k about £1000

i sold a 65k at £1200 a couple of weeks ago  :happy2:

also axx with 80k for £800 but you would be mad to buy an axx they are time bombs  :laugh:

I paid 900 for full engine and gearbox with all the stuff still on it happy days so is the BWA engine any better or will these go bang as well ?

This is exactly why i replaced my oil pump chain and tensioner for piece of mind, hopefully you get it sorted soon

I phoned TPS and they wanted 1013 for oil pump and balancing shaft housing ! That's a new engine !

bwa are a great engine  :happy2:

when i sell an engine its complete everything except the gearbox  :wink:

Well looks like a got a good deal then with the engine and gearbox for 950 hahah pick the bad boy up Saturday morning and hopefully have the old girl running by Monday finger crossed !!!
