Post by: Jcricks on April 28, 2016, 01:12:43 pm
Hi guys just asking what sort of setups people are running on there mk5 track cars? I am currently stage 2 with a full miltek system, itg induction and a few other things. It's currently on air ride etc and stanced but I've had a change of heart and want a track car! What do you suggest Doing. Thanks in advance!

Sell the air ride kit and get a decent set of coilovers id say, with adjustable top mounts  adjustable top mounts.

KW spring to mind

If you can't or don't want to run to coilovers the Bilstein B12 kits are worth a look.  :happy2:
I thought of moving to coilovers a while back but I've done numerous track days on my current setup and the car is no slouch. Maybe one day I will change, probably when my kit is worn out.
Currently it has more grip than I have gentleman's area!  :driver:

Cage is a waste unless you are going balls out fully stripped track car.

Rich its not a waste mate its worth at least 50 scene points. Well worth it in my eyes.

But seriously a decent set of coils, the BC Relentless (I think they're called) come with adjustable top mounts and fully adjustable damping etc... For £600 odd and seem to be pretty good. Otherwise anything with KW or Bilstein will be good.

Then some decent 4 pot brakes as R32 isn't enough on track and they're very heavy

Upgraded Anti roll bars or the rear at least

Team dynamic 1,2's or other lightweight wheel wrapped on a good tyre

Will suprise a few people with a well set up MK5  :happy2:

All depends what air ride kit you've got!
