hi,
my rear brake shield has rusted and started to rattle which is driving me mad. can I remove it without taking off the rear bearing, obviously need to remove disc and carrier with is a bummer. any advise would be great cheers.

No

Yes you can as I have done this already, I will be doing the NS rear soon too as that is starting to rattle. I used tin snips, in short jack it up, remove the wheel and cut a pizza slice out of it getting as near to the center as you can. It will take a bit of force and bending/manipulating and possible cutting bits off the top/sides but eventually it will give in and come away causing no damage to the caliper/carrier or anything.
Hope this helps

If you're not replacing it then yes :signLOL:

Would you want to replace it?
When I asked the other month the opinion was kind of no!
