Morning all
Looking to get a polisher and was wondering what would be best / easiest for a newbie.
Will only be used for general polishing, I'm not expecting to achive a glass like finish just remove some light scratches. Budget upto about £150 but ideally with pads to be ready to go.
An idea of polishes to use would be nice too, again just general polishing stuff....
Thanks

In my last employment one of the valet guys had a small hand drill chuckless with 2" mop heads and he polished out the smaller scratches out with that. clever idea and quality mop heads that I'm trying to find for self now.
Doesn't have to be that one but they all do the same job regardless of which brand. I have a machine mart one but haven't had the chance to use it after moving ro london.

This one? If so there's cash left for polish!

Very good as mine is very heavy to handle and can get tiring on the arms lol Although mine covers more area so a lot quicker.
Edit; my mistake guys as that has a 6.5 inch capability pad so the same but better than mine

LOL thanks :rolleye:

Used a DAS6 Pro for a few years now and can't really fault it for what they cost! Started off with lake country pads but didn't really rate them, now using the Auto Finesse revitalise kit with a hexlogic finishing pad and it works a treat.

As it happens I've only just ordered mine, went for this in the end http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing-machines/das-6-pro-dual-action-polisher/das-6-pro-meguiars-hex-logic-kit/prod_1212.html (http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing-machines/das-6-pro-dual-action-polisher/das-6-pro-meguiars-hex-logic-kit/prod_1212.html)
Should be here tomorrow so let the polishing commence!
Also got a big fluffy drying towel as recommended on another thread and some black wax.

You won't be disappointed with this. I've used this setup myself and it gives great results every time. It does the job nicely and it's very well priced IMO :happy2:

It arrived this morning which was good service as I never paid extra for fast delivery. Looks ok, although not having seen anything else can't really compare it against anything.

Had a quick practise on my wife's car today before using it on my Golf.
Someone brushed her bumper a couple of weeks ago so I thought I'd try out the new toy.
Started with this
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fv356%2Frob4462%2F20160522_1030291.jpg&hash=335e5188673736329ea9b37bce0bfd870550744a)
Took a few nervous minutes to get this..
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fv356%2Frob4462%2F20160522_1317121.jpg&hash=701259e94b165a3494fac6e654d647561a9b5c2c)
Looks like there's still a scratch there but it must be a reflection of something.
I'm pretty impressed with the results, and also managed to tackle the area around the door handle that looked as though a bear had been trying to claw its way into the car...

Unfortunately it pissed down so forgot to take an after picture, but managed to get all but 1 of the scratches out. Given I only had about 10 minutes on it, think that's quite good.
