I was on my way to uni when I got a call from my mate.
He was on his way to part exchange his leon fr bwa for a gt86 (such bad timing!) when he said hes gone over a speed bump, heard a loud "twang" noise and the engines cut out. No warnings. any advise before I arrive would be great.
He said he tried turning it back on once and it grumbled but then he decided not to try again incase hes done damage to it.

Had the engine cover off and it all looks ok.
-
Intercooler hose popped off?.
-
Checked the one into the inlet but can't check the one under the crankshaft pulley.
-
I had this bang once and car just stalled on the motorway so pulled over to the hard shoulder and lucky and huge lay by where I got under the car and found right hand hose popped off. no engine cover different car but same design. hope you find the issue.
-
Rule it out by unplugging the MAF - car will run without any boost pipework
Removing camcover wont tell you much. Have you checked belt? Are you sure this isn't the same thing that happened to you?
-
Check the timing belt.

He decided to risk it, I advised him to not considering my situation but ge started it anyway, run fine.
Hes only got to drive it ten mins to dealer wheres he got his new car waiting. Lucky!!!
