Fitted depo headlights with hid kit, blown the wiper motor as expected, changed the motor today but still won't work, the wiper motor will work however if a direct feed is put to it.
Any ideas??
-
You need to go into vcds central electrics (9) and click into coding and then the long coding helper wheel one of the bytes will have something that says xenons with shutters off and check the box press enter on laptop and then X exit the box and then save coding and replace any blown fuses too.
-
Cheers I will give it a try tomorrow.
Need it sorted by Sunday at the latest as its booked in to be painted on Monday
-
Good luck with it and let us know how you get on.
Thanks

Remember the Bonnet needs to be closed when working the wipers!

Remember the Bonnet needs to be closed when working the wipers!
Another stupid design from VAG :signLOL:
-
Seriously starting to fall out with my golf now, got it back from paint shop today & fitted new wiper motor as it blew from fitting hid kit, the wipers still don't work even with removing hid kit and replacement motor!!
-
Have you closed the bonnet?.
Checked all fuses?.
-
Yep Checked all fuses, Checked with Vagcom that it Recognised the bonnet was closed
-
Maybe you've done worse damage than you think.
Check for power to the motor?. Stalk could be faulty?.
-
On VCDS it says no comms with wiper motor.
I have spoke to TPS and given them the part number of the 2nd hand motor I have fitted & they say its different to the one that is listed for my car so ordered a brand new one off them just incase.
With an electrical probe there is a constant live feed there at the motor plug (Think it was a white/red wire)
One thing I did notice was on the BCM under the drivers side dash there was a white relay that was getting quite warm.
-
I did type bcm in my last post but deleted it as I wasn't sure if the wiper has a reply or not. Ask tps if they do a wiper relay for the car and if they do that Mayne the answer to your woes.
-
Will give them a bell in the morning. :happy2:
Just want the car back now as its been in Bodyshop for over a month and ran out of MOT
-
Good luck and :signLOL: to MOT

Looks like the VW specialist may have found the problem with the wipers, they say it all points to the body control module.
There is a feed from the switch, the car recognises the bonnet is closed, all fuses / relays are ok.
The module is seeing the feed but not sending it to the wipers.
-
So new module then?.
-
Yeah looks like it
-
Gosh that won't be cheap either. unless you go used one. There's a car breaking in the sale section you may want to try?.
-
Dont want to chance a used one really, Will be ordering new from my local TPS in the morning. Just hope thats the only damage I have done or it will be even more expensive !!
-
Hopefully you'll resolve the issue once it's been replaced.
-
My wipers work !!!!  :jumping:
-
Pleased you got it sorted did you fit and reprogrammed the new item?
-
No it wasnt the BCM, I had a new one fitted and still the wipers didnt work, No other fault codes on VCDS appart from no comms with wipers.
The garage spent most of the day checking all values in the different modules & checking all the wiring loom for continuity, it turned out it was the rain / light sensor in the rear view mirror, Un plugged that and wipers worked fine.
