For some reason I've got it in my mind that they'll check, but can't remember if I've read that somewhere or just made it up. If they do check it and it's knackered, do they keep replacement stock or should I hurry up and order a replacement just in case?

They check before mapping and will supply & fit a new oen for an extra £45ish from memory, same as the PCV. The cam follower is not checked so make sure you have checked and/or changed it

Great thanks. PCV seems to be okay...I did the oil cap test.
Cam follower...I was looking at the guide for that and I'm not sure how I'll get TDC as I have a DSG so don't think I can roll the car in gear.

Actually, ignore that about TDC. Apparently it's not necessary

No need for TDC, just remove and replace. Very simple DIY but essential

There's a thread on the forum about it somewhere. From what I remember, let the car idle and loosen the oil cap for a moment. If the PCV is okay, the car will run rough and sound like it's going to stall.
Don't take my word for it though as I'm clueless...have a search for the thread!

Replace the PCV regardless, The One Way Valves do fail and if you turn up for mapping and it does need replacing then you have some messing about to do on the day.
Before I took my cars for mapping at R-tech on both my Edition 30 and Golf R I did...
Full Service, All Filters, Millers Nanodrive 5W40 Oil
BKR7EIX Iridium Plugs
New Cam Follower
Latest Revision PCV
Revision G Diverter
Both cars where up on stock power and torque, They also made very good figures when mapped too.
Just my two penneth :happy2:

They checked the DV regardless. Looks like mine has already been put to Rev G and was in good condition. Made 207/215 before the map with just a panel filter.
