....
Cool vid! Nice chilled soundtrack helping to feel unstressed.
Legibility of the lettering would benefit by just a fraction more spacing between letters. Try it with different letter spacings and you'll probably agree.
You could help people further by adding what gear you are using and how it can lessen wheelspin.
I'm offering constructive ideas for your consideration rather than criticising :happy2: [and you invited me too and there's no point in not being honest]
-
The sound of the Derv would of been a good enough backing track :ashamed:

cheers for that robin, yep i left the kerning of the wording on at -75 by accident. I normally redo my logo manually and i had left it set at -75.
Cheers mate

nice video, wonder what happens on ice ?

nice video, wonder what happens on ice ?
well shortly before that video, i was faced with a guy sliding down the hill towards me. It was sheer ice and i slipped over pushing the guy outa the way.
Obviously i had to get my car out of his way, which meant i only had one option of pointing my nose down a steep hill, then reversing to where i was originally, when he had passed.
I was a bit dubious, being on sheet ice, no snow, especially having seen what slow speeds this corsa in front was sliding.
Anyway, i reversed no problem about 6-7m up a hill. i was amazed!
-
in that case brilliant :congrats:, where from and how much ?

Three kindneys and your left testicle at the moment! they are like rocking horse poo! but they set me back £126 each. Pretty expensive but i reckon id get three winters out of them.
Plus...One Knock in the car on ice and your guna be looking at more than £500!
-
Wow car looks amazing
cheers nasir

What size did you get

Dunno if you lot have seen this vid as its been posted on serveral forums but check out the final test as I think it sums up best the benefitsof winter tyres over standard all season/summer versions.
Also has anyone got a picture of the GTI specfic winter steel wheels?

cheers, where did you get them ?
-
A local supplier mate.
-
Would have been nice to compare how the car handled with equivalent non-winter tyres to see the difference.
Otherwise, a great vid... keep 'em coming.

How come the 225 45 18 and not 225 40 18 as per the norm or is that a typo.
I have read lots about Winter tyres on another forum I frequent. There were statements about haveing to inform your insurance, that you must fit 4 and not just 2, etc. Not sure regarding the legalities but it certainly looks the ticket.
One guy called another irresponsible and wreckless as he was only fitting the fronts as per Jay. In my mind that is perfect as the rears essentially only stop the bum dragging on the floor.
-
I've fitted some winter tyres, lassa snoways onto my 16" steel rims. I was undecided until i got stuck and nearly had an accident due to the weather. Id rather pay alittle for some more tyres than have to fix my car, or even worse write it off.

with the weather and cold, it would just have been practical. I know it doesn't look it on camera, but a one in four gradient is dam steep! Add that to the fact I've been getting stuck on the flat with the conti, I wouldn't have thought there would be much to see putting my normal tyres on.

my mistake hedge. They are 40 profile. I have ordered 4 tyres, just I've only got two as of yet. Stocks are obviously low. And I would say it's probably a silly thing not to fit the two on the front if you have them. If only for the humongous braking capabilities!
As for insurance. I will clear up the two/four wheel side of things in the morning

Top Vid Jay :happy2: Hard to believe that just changing tyres can make it that easy(or is it just your driving)

Very impressive :congrats: You are a geek though :P

yep very dangerous mate. Around the corner out of shot are three cars that are all bumper to bumper crashed in the wall. It's off camber too so I have no doubt iwould have been joining them if I tried going down that with normal tyres.

....
Another alternative to 'winter' tyres : - http://www.autosock.co.uk/

Now that's what I call magic... :happy2:
