Ive been advised to replace my cam timing chain and tensioner when going stage 3 for a piece of mind. I can't really justify spending £140 for the FSI Engine Belt Replacement + Chain in Head Service Kit for a job that I'm hopefully only going to do once. Has anyone got one that I can borrow? I will pay for postage or can collect depending on location + cash your way for the 'rental' :happy2:

@dazza (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=10457) Lent me his, which I still have.
It is not the genuine one however, and has been welded. Still worked for me...
-
Don't you think dazza should get his one back :signLOL: :slap:

Ive spoke to Daz about it, and instead of me sending the tool back to him only for him to send it on to someone else, we thought it made more sense for me to send it to the next forum member that needed it
:slap: backatcha :signLOL:

haha, spot on Peskyjones. Maybe I should contact this mysterious 'daz' character and ask him before hand just to be polite. What has been welded in the kit? Is everything there, bar the new parts, to do the job?

Its fine by me. @tommygti (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=5865) cover the postage for @Peskyjones (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=11854) to send it to you then when done you can send it back to my UK address.

Yes everything is there.
The non genuine tools have a habbit of the two pins bending so I had the two pins welded in place so they wouldnt bend.
-
Cheers Daz, top bloke, and cheers pesky for the quick problem solving. I'l pm you pesky.

The tool costs £40 or offers on ebay obviously non genuine but it's there.

Not worth risking using them

The welded one will be fine i'd use it. If is slides in when at TDC good to go.
