I've put my car up for sale and have reduced the price for a quick sale. The price I'm asking is under it's value, yet I haven't had one person out to look at it. PLenty of people offering thousands less via email but recently not even any of those. It's been up for about 3 weeks now. I've got it on Pistonheads, ebay. autotrader, here, scoobynet, MLR and Sheff scoobies. Any ideas?

edition38.com?
-
Yeah I can try more forums but it means going on and building post counts doesn't it?
-
just after chrimbo, everyones broke!
-
Can you give me a link to the advert mate? I know a lad looking for a decent scooby so I can send the details if its what he's looking for.
Cheers.
-
Sit tight mate, Post Xmas will be quiet and the recent weather won't have too many people thinking about changing. Give it a few more weeks, a buyer will come.
-
I just looked on Autotrader and didn't see yours. At £9800 yours would be the cheapest GTi on there.
Trade is about £9k for an A1 example like yours so £9800 for a private is ball park IMHO.

I think I've got it on at £9999. I'm loathe to lower the price as people try for a grand off anyway. I know if someone comes to see it they will buy it as it's spot on. Problem is getting them out to view.

Cheers, just a bit frustrating as my replacement is sat in blokes garage waiting to be paid for :(

Nice car, should shift soon enough. As others have said time of year plus bad weather has probably kept folk away but that should change soon enough. :happy2:
If I has 10k I'd buy it!
-
EGAY IT!!
Whats your new car?
-
It is on ebay.
Next car is an 03 Impreza sti uk type with Ppp. I went from R32, to Evo then bought the Gti as a sensible alternative. I miss the evo alot and am trying the scoob as it's the servicing schedule is more sensible than the Evo.

That seems very keenly priced to me. I bought my car in december its a year and a bit newer with just under 40k and i paid £12200 with a two year warranty, again mines was a very good example.
The reds seem to be the easyest colour to get hold of, (which might work against you) But at that sort of price im surprised it hasnt walked !
I know that in Scotland they dont last long at all, as there are never that much for sale at any one time. It took me a while to find one, i also discoverd that there were loads of crappy examples about, so like you said it will just be a case of getting someone to come and view it and you should be sorted.
There is always P/X if things dont go to plan

I would say that the car is VERY keenly priced - in fact doing a lot to drop the price of other GTIs!!!
As others have said - the WORST month to be selling a car, or anything for that matter. Nobody has any money.
If I was being picky, whilst the car is A1 condition, the pics could be taken in a better place - looks like an industrial estate/unit. I might put buyers off, as there is no reference to a home etc.... Daft, I know, but I had the same issue with my S4 when I was selling.
Changed the pics for a more desirable location, and got loads more interest...
Good luck either way

Might try changing them. I took these outside boyfriend's work as there's nothing else in the picture.

I put an 2008 08 ED30 with 15,000 miles on webuyanycar last week and got just under £8,000. I was wondering if they have missed the first 1?
-
I think they missed a bit of their song. What they mean is 'we buy any car for peanuts'
-
£17400 for mine :stupid:

Had a look at the ad on Autotrader ... car looks really nice nice condition :happy2:
A few possible suggestions for the write up which may attract a discerning buyer is to emphasise some of the good selling points about the cars history if you can ... e.g.
If it was originally UK dealer supplied say so (they know it's not an import then)
How many previous owners ? ... if low, say so
How long have you had the car ... if quite a few years says so etc..
Has it had a full service history ? and all at VW ? .. a big plus point .. make a big deal of this
-
£20650 and it's yours. :-)
