I guess what I am after ideally is a photo of a Gti from underneath showing all the areas that it is possible to place axle stands.
I know, I know, they are Axle stands and they should go on the axles, but I remember the last time I took 2 wheels off at a time to give them a real good clean/wax, I was confused as to where to put the stands :ashamed:
I ended up placing the stand under the sill/jacking point, but it was tricky. I had to place the jack on the jacking point, but it was right on the edge, so I could get the stand in when it was jacked up.
I will be taking both front wheels off soon to paint the new front calipers! I just want to be safe.

I use the rear wishbone mount on the front of the car, haven't had one on the back yet. If that helps?

Yes, thems the ones!

You really shouldn't use two sets of axle stands like that to lift all four wheels off the ground - it's pretty dangerous!
But I agree, for jacking the front, the rear wishbone mounts.

Thanks Animal, yeah, I'll only be doin the front :happy2:
