Title: Gti springs on a Gt Tdi
Post by: Gmac on May 25, 2016, 02:20:31 pm
I've done a search, but not managed to come to a conclusion...

Would mk5 gti (5-door) standard springs work on a Gt tdi???  Will the tdi sit higher or lower?

TIA

I fitted gti springs on my tdi and it does not sit that much lower really but the handling is much better now
Does not feel like a boat driving into bends
Maybe if I fitted 18" wheels it might fill the arches more ?
I'm still using the 17" gt alloys

Isn't the TDI unit heavier than the TFSi unit? Therefore it might sit slightly lower...

I may have dreamed that though...  :ashamed:

Think that's the case with most  diesel engines. Was with my Astra h... I put vxr springs on my cdti and it sat lower than a vxr  :happy2:

The loading capacity of the  gttdi is higher due to the wait and also will be the same height as a gti
You are better getting the right springs
