What is best?

- Foam pad
- Micro Fibre pad
- or something more specialised like Auto Finesse Wax Mate?

I use the auto finesse 'puck', good little thing that takes the Strain off your fingers  :happy2:

No pads, cloth etc  Bare fingers will detect imperfections or raised areas better than anything else.

Softest pad you can get, I prefer microfibre of some sort.

I have found that it is very much personal preference when it comes to applying wax so really my advice is try it all and see what works for you. Try doing one panel one way and another with a different applicator and just experiment a bit with it. Other than that make sure the paint is super clean first, use something soft to lower the risk of inflicting marks, apply the wax as thinly as you can and try not to get whatever applicator completely clogged with the wax. Sometimes making the applicator slightly damp can help to stop it from picking up too much wax and therefore help with the thin spreading etc.

I would personally discourage using bare fingers as this, albeit fun, is generally a waste of wax. However, as mentioned it is a good way to really feel what you are doing and therefore minimise the risk of inflicting marks while applying the wax.

Cheers,

Chris
