Title: Loss of power, re-started and now fine??
Post by: DaveE on June 08, 2016, 09:03:37 pm
Hi all,

As above really. I was driving home from work today when all of a sudden the power just went, it was as though i had no turbo. I continued on about two miles then when I hit a junction I re started the engine, after this it was back to normal.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

I guess something triggered the car to go into limp mode which could be a number of things but from my experience with the rental gti I had a couple years ago turned out it was the sensors on the accelerator pedal. The guy from breakdown took the pedal apart and cleaned a load of crap from them and it was fine after.
