Title: Refresh GTI brakes
Post by: white91 on June 11, 2016, 05:57:08 pm
Short of changing over to R32 brakes can I make my existing brakes any better?

I was thinking about updated pads?
Mintex discs (get them cheap)
Fluid change

Will they be any better? I don't do track days but sometimes have a B road blast

I've bought Brembo discs and pads from gsf as they regularly have 40% off weekend deals and the brakes feel very positive.

Your brake pedal will feel much more stronger with braided lines which is what I did to my last car.

Hel are a good brand as I had the same on previous car and brakes were excellent although I had Brembo's fitted as oem were rubbish. The gti is okay but I'd have to change them if remapped.
I'm not sure on the second question regards will the fit upgraded brakes but someone may know this.
