Tried some Meguiars Ultimate Compound on microfibre cloth and there are still some deeper scratches.
Anything else more suitable?
Black pearl paint btw.
Ta very.

Maybe try using a machine polisher opposed to hand?

It's most likely going to need a MOP (machine operated polish) and whether or not it's a rotary or dual action (DA) is entirely preference.
Unless you pay somebody else to do it. This could be worthwhile depending on cost. It won't be too cheap to set yourself up but when you do and have learnt your machine it's very rewarding.
DA's are 'safe' and rotary's have the potential to damage paint but you have to be a complete plum. Rotary's can eliminate heavier defects more quickly than DA's.
When corrected, explore using the 2 bucket wash method. If you already know about it I'll get my coat!
And I hope you know that sponges are the work of the devil! :fighting:
If I've quoted the obvious forgive me! :happy2:

Only thing I've found even a bit effective by hand on VAG paint is Gtechniq P1 and a firm hand pad but its hard work and really doesn't do a lot.
You're best off using a filler glaze like Poorboys Black Hole if you want better depth by hand as this fills marks instead of removing them so same effect but much less work.
Otherwise as above you need to machine polish to achieve anything decent.

vw black pearl tends to be a very hard paint. so as above your gonna need to machine polish it. working up from least agressive upwards till you find what works but chances are your gonna have to get quite agressive with it

Cheers guys, a guy at work is going to lend me his DA so will try that with the stuff I've got first and take it from there.

Always used 3M Fast cut plus. also used it professionally. top stuff. tried autobrite restore and that didnt come close.

I find that Meguiars 101 works perfectly for removing light scratches/swirl marks, then a decent machine polish on top
